Coming soon · all year round
Forget battling coastal storms or watching the tide tables. Step inside for an exclusive, hands-on sensory journey through Scotland's wild coast — without getting your boots wet.
Over 2.5 immersive hours, we break down the science, biology, and culinary magic of sustainably harvested seaweeds, paired seamlessly with award-winning Lowland single malts from Fife's own Kingsbarns Distillery.
How the workshop works
Every 30 minutes, we unlock a new element of the ocean. You'll touch, smell, and learn about a distinct seaweed, watch a live plating demonstration, and enjoy a curated bite alongside its matching whisky dram:
- 01 · Ulva (Sea Lettuce) — Fresh & green · paired with Kingsbarns Doocot Highball
- 02 · Sea Spaghetti — Nut butter & fibre · paired with Kingsbarns Family Reserve
- 03 · Dulse — The smoky umami powerhouse · paired with Kingsbarns Balcomie (Sherry Cask)
- 04 · Sugar Kelp — Iodine & smoke · paired with Kingsbarns Coaltown (Ex-Peated Cask)
- 05 · Ginger & Kelp Pickle — Acidity & spice · paired with Kingsbarns Bell Rock (Cask Strength)
Interactive chemistry feature: learn how to use our house-made Kombu Saline Droppers to modify whisky chemistry at your table — cutting alcohol sting and unlocking hidden fruit and floral esters.
