Cancellation policy

Workshops happen on a live shoreline, so the weather and the tide always have the final say. Here is exactly how postponements, refunds and safety responsibilities work when you book with East Neuk Seaweed.

Weather & postponement

• All East Neuk Seaweed workshops are subject to weather conditions and can be postponed at short notice.
• Every effort will be made to give a day’s notice prior to postponement, but given the changeable nature of Scottish weather this may not always be possible.
• If workshops are postponed due to adverse weather conditions, participants will be booked onto the next available workshop.
• While it is very uncommon that we have to cancel or postpone a workshop, our coastal environment does occasionally have other plans. If a workshop must be postponed by East Neuk Seaweed (for example, due to unsafe weather or tidal conditions) and a suitable alternative date cannot be found, you will receive a 100% full refund.

Cancelling your booking

• Plans change — if you need to cancel your booking, please provide at least 7 days’ notice. You will receive a refund for your booking, minus a 10% admin fee to cover our payment processing and administrative costs. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled workshop are non-refundable.
• Failure to attend a workshop that has not been postponed by East Neuk Seaweed will result in loss of payment, and no refund will be given.

Safety responsibilities

• All participants are provided with safety information prior to the commencement of workshops. It is the responsibility of each participant to review this information and remain aware of the potential risks associated with intertidal foraging.
• Group representatives are responsible for sharing all safety information provided by East Neuk Seaweed with every member of their group before the workshop begins.
• East Neuk Seaweed reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone who fails to adhere to safety instructions or wear required PPE provided during the session.
