Seaweed cooked baked potato

How to use Seaweed as a no-waste replacement for tinfoil.

  • Carefully carve out the inside of a potato

  • Keep potato top for a lid

  • Gently break an egg into the hole

  • Replace the lid

  • Wrap the Potato in two layers of Seaweed

  • Use 2nd layer of seaweed to seal open ends

  • Secure with small sticks or skewers

  • Place package safely into hot coals 

  • Turn once if fire hotter on one side

  • Allow approx 15 mins until potato feels soft

  • Remove from fire and allow to cool slightly

  • Peel away burnt seaweed

  • The potato should be cooked but not burnt 

  • Slice in half and serve as desired 

  • All waste can go straight into the compost
